From three years through eighth grade, GLS students attend and participate in weekly chapel.  In most instances, chapel takes place on Wednesday mornings at 8:40 AM for grades 1-8 and 9:10 AM for three years through Kindergarten.  On the first Wednesday of every month all students attend chapel together at 8:40 AM.  This allows the upper grade students to walk and sit with their “chapel buddies.” 

Chapel Buddies” is a wonderful program that has been in place at GLS for many years.  At the beginning of the school year, older students are paired with a younger student.  They attend chapel together once a month and do various activities throughout the year.  For example, fifth graders plant flowers with their pre-kindergarten chapel buddies and fourth graders decorate Christmas cookies with their kindergarten buddies.

 Make sure you check with your student as there are times when students conduct chapel with their teacher.

 Family and friends of students are encouraged to attend chapel when possible.
