!Hola Amigos y Padres, Bienvenidos a la clase de Español de la Srita. Vasquez!
(WELCOME TO MS. VASQUEZ’ SPANISH CLASS!)
My name is Ruth Vasquez and this is my second year here at Gethsemane School. I am very excited to have the opportunity to teach the wonderful and fun Pre-K class in the mornings here at Gethsemane. Additionally I am teaching Spanish to the Kindergarteners, First Grade, Second Grade and sixth Grade. I teach Spanish Monday – Friday.
My teaching experience consists of 1 year with First grade and 1semester with kindergarten at the Tempe Public Schools and 6 years in early childhood in Private Schools (Dayspring Preschool and Kindergarten and Child Care, Complete Kids Care and Gethsemane Lutheran School). Here at these respecting schools I have taught Spanish.
On the other hand, my Education consists of an Associates Degree in Spanish from Mesa Community College and a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Arizona State University.
I am originally from Agua Prieta Sonora Mexico, border with Douglas Arizona. I was born and raised up to the age of 13 ½ years in Agua Prieta and then moved to the United States with my whole family.
I am very excited to teach Spanish here at Gethsemane and I hope this class will be very beneficial. Knowing two languages is a BLESSING!
My first Spanish lesson began the third week of August (Aug. 17-21). During the month of August the students will learn personal introductions and greetings. Then topics such as Colors (Los Colores) and Days of the Week (Los dias de la semana) will follow. My Instruction does not involve many worksheets because I personally believe they are not very beneficial at the grade level I am teaching now. My instruction consists mainly of visuals and hands on activities. I will keep your child and you inform of the up coming lessons and any changes in my curriculum. If there are any specific directions about an activity/work sheet, you will be informed in order to help your child and avoid confusions.
Please feel free to email me or call me with any questions or concerns.
Thanks and God Bless You!
Ms. Ruth Vasquez
